"My relationship with the Lord Jesus began on September 17, 1977. Since that moment, I have always had a burden to be an effective witness for the Lord. However, lately, I have struggled to lay aside my fears and share the Gospel message with others. When I first met Fred Hege in November of 2021, he invited me to accompany him to share the Gospel on the Las Vegas Strip. Before we began, Fred gave a short inspirational lesson on how to apply the 4 Easy Steps for Sharing the Gospel in 4 Minutes. Almost immediately, I developed a comfort level in sharing the Gospel and leading others to Christ. I have experienced the joy of witnessing others come to the knowledge of God’s saving grace. It is the most exciting experience a believer can ever have. I use the 4 Easy Steps every day in my rideshare business. Thank you, Fred, for helping me grow into a better witness and evangelist." 

"Fred Hege taught an evangelism class one Sunday evening in our church. The course was on how to present the Gospel. After the completion, Fred challenged everyone to share their faith with at least two people before the next Sunday. I did not commit to his challenge because I was committed to keeping my grandson the coming week. 

I could not get that challenge off of my mind. On Thursday, I found myself unexpectedly at a new insurance agency. When I walked in, the receptionist was on the phone, and the agent with whom I had an appointment was still at lunch. When she got off the phone, I asked permission to share the Give ‘em Jesus Scriptures just like presented in class and witnessed Janet pray to receive Jesus! When Cierra, the insurance agent, got back from lunch, I asked permission to share the scriptures with her, and she prayed to receive Jesus into her heart, as well.

On our way home, my husband and I decided to stop and have dinner. Our young waitress was a teenager, and I asked permission to share the Give ‘em Jesus Scriptures with her. She prayed to receive Jesus, too. 

I called Fred three times. We couldn’t stop praising the Lord together!! That Sunday evening class ignited a fire in my soul! I witnessed 10 decisions for Jesus in a short period of time. One gentleman was 101 years old.

Today, when I have the privilege to lead others to Jesus, I always give God the glory. The Holy Spirit is always present. I want to be obedient to His leading. Thank you, Fred, for the fire that now burns in my heart!"

"I have never felt more purposeful than when sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Today, no matter where I find myself, I have the tools to share the Kingdom's message in obedience to God’s command. Thank you, Fred, for teaching me how to be an effective witness for Christ. Applying what you have taught me, along with the personal witnessing testaments I use, gives me a great sense of purpose. Seeing a new believer receive Christ for the first time never gets old. I am a 60-year-old man who became a born-again believer at 13 years of age. It wasn’t until 2014, some 38 years later, that I started witnessing and telling people about Jesus, but I was, simply, not very good. 

A really good friend of mine shared some thoughts with me that subsequently changed my life and the way I witness them. He said to be a good witness for the Lord, you have to catch a “vision.” It wasn’t long after that  —  I caught a vision at the Winston-Salem bus station when my friend led a deaf man to the Lord after I had failed miserably at witnessing to him. That day, I asked God to please make me bold and obedient, live out the Great Commission and become the best witness for Him possible. I realize that we live in a very dark world. My job as a Christian is to shine bright for Him and share His amazing story everywhere I go.

In 2018, God laid on my heart to seek out and witness to the homeless people I encounter daily in my job-related travels. I have engaged many, many people who are hungry for the Word of God and desperate to hear the message of what Jesus Christ did for them on Calvary. With God’s help and amazing guidance, I have become a B.O.A. Christian (Bold, Obedient ,and Available) in proclaiming the gospel wherever God opens a door.

I, finally, let go and today God uses me to proclaim the message of the Cross to large numbers of people. Witnessing for Jesus has drawn me closer to God every day.  To God be the glory!" 

During my time in Fred's class, I prayed specifically for opportunities to share the Gospel. At the time, I was volunteering at Salem Pregnancy Care Center in a counseling role where new patients came in to confirm their pregnancies. A young lady, Amy, came in for her appointment.  She was nervous and scared. I followed the customary admission form and asked her a series of questions that lead to  helpful conversation. One of the questions asked was about her faith. I used this opportunity to apply my Engagement Question with the intent of sharing the Give 'em Jesus Scriptures. The most vivid and memorable part of our time together was when Amy said, "I know that I am a sinner. I want to repent and ask Jesus into my heart." The Gideon New Testament Bible has a section in the back that helps guide the new believer in this life-changing journey. This is what I used to help guide this young lady. I was so thankful for the Holy Spirit's prompting and guidance of Amy through the most important decision of her life. Fred's witnessing class gave me the confidence to pray bold prayers for an open door to share my faith with non-believers. It's God's work and He invites us to be part of His great adventure.
