95% of born-again believers have never led one person to Christ. Unfortunately, 83% of new believers are led to Christ through personal witnessing. So, 95% of God’s people are not engaged in the primary means God uses to win the lost in our day — one-on-one, conversational evangelism. In a recent survey by Barna Group, unbelievers were asked, “Would you be willing to listen to a gospel presentation from someone passionate about their faith?” 70% responded “Yes.” Are you ready?
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

On December 23, in Greensboro, North Carolina, I stopped at a local Sheetz to get a cup of coffee. It was 16º with a wind chill of 7º. As I entered the store, I saw a FedEx driver walking to his van. I stopped and asked him if he had a New Testament. He said, “No.” So, as I offered him mine, I asked if he had ever given his heart to Jesus. He said, “No.” I asked him if he would be willing to read a few verses from the back cover. In the freezing cold, he read verse after verse, which told him God loves him, we are all sinners and the remedy for our sins is the blood of Jesus. When he read Romans 10:9 and Romans 10:13, I asked him if he would be willing to give his heart and soul to Jesus Christ. He said, “Yes!” At approximately 9:15 am, in the most adverse weather conditions I can remember in years, with a truckload of packages under a Christmas delivery time crunch, he surrendered his heart and soul to Jesus Christ. — To God be the glory.

A few months ago, a Give ‘em Jesus team of five members, partnered with a local ministry that provides coats and resources for poor neighborhoods in their city. We set up in a church parking lot downtown. As we prayed for God’s wisdom and direction, we believed that we would witness a large outpouring of the Holy Spirit and, consequently, experience the joy of witnessing decisions for Jesus. At the end of the day, we were overcome with God’s goodness. We witnessed 16 decisions for Jesus while we encouraged these new believers to be active daily readers of the Word of God and to be a part of the Body of Christ in one of the local churches. — To God be the Glory!
